The State of California requires that insurers send California customers a notice once every three years to verify the accuracy of the annual mileage listed for each vehicle on a policy. If these customers want to update their mileage as a result of this notice, they must do so prior to their policy renewal.
Below is a copy of the notice that customers receive:
If a customer responds to this notice:
- Do one of the following, based on whether the customer reports a mileage change:
• If there's no mileage change, acknowledge their response by using the "California Mileage Verification no change" macro, and then solve the ticket.
• If there is a mileage change, process an endorsement for the updated mileage, and then go to Step 2.
- Respond to the customer using the "California Mileage Verification Notice change" macro.
