Why UMPD might be waived on a policy

If your vehicle’s insurance coverage includes collision coverage, then your policy’s Declarations page will state that Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD) is "waived."

When collision coverage is present on a vehicle, UMPD is no longer applicable and is instead replaced by what’s called the Collision Deductible Waiver (CDW). This means that in the event of an incident with a confirmed uninsured motorist where they are determined at fault, your collision deductible will be waived.
