Canceling a policy in the agent portal

Clearcover Agent Portal users with “agent” access can cancel customer policies.

Follow the instructions below to learn how to cancel a policy. 


On the policy page, select "Cancel Policy." A pop-up will appear, asking you to provide a cancellation reason and effective date. You can only choose same-day or future effective dates for cancelation.

Before finalizing a cancellation, you will need to check a box acknowledging "I am authorized by the customer to cancel this policy on their behalf.”


Canceling at Renewal

If a renewal term is available and you want the policy to be canceled at the end of the current term,  choose "Last day of Policy". Trying to use the Scheduled option will result in an error.

  • If a customer has an overdue balance, you will be prompted to collect the premium before entering the cancellation flow.
  • The ability to self-service cancellations has automatically been enabled for your agency.
